Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Wishes

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

More and more my Bookish Wishes list has become these are the books I really want. I do try and keep an eye and tidy it up now and then, as my tastes change a fair bit depending on what I’ve been reading recently and what I really fancy reading next. I admit I am kind of addicted to wish lists, it’s just so useful, especially for keeping track of books!

List the top 10 books you’d love to own and include a link to your wishlist so that people can grant your wish.

Wishlist

The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston / Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up by Alexandra Potter

I can’t remember how I heard about The Dead Romantics – likely another blogger’s review! – but I instantly fell in love with the premise. It sounds like so much fun! Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up I want to read because I watched the series based of it, Not Dead Yet, and really enjoyed it.

Something Fabulous by Alexis Hall / Hex Appeal by Kate Johnson / A Radical Act of Free Magic by H.G. Parry

Something Fabulous because I’ve wanted to read more Alexis Hall ever since I finished A Lady for a Duke. Hex Appeal because, well, it appealed to me! Pretty much instantly, and I was unfortunately declined for this one on NetGalley. And A Radical Act of Free Magic because I absolutely loved A Declaration of the Rights of Magicians and want to finish this duology.

The Luminaries by Susan Dennard / Ex-Wives of Dracula by Georgette Kaplan

I did have The Luminaries on pre-order, but unfortunately financial situation meant I had to cancel it. I’m determined to get my hands on this one at some point. And Ex-Wives of Dracula because I’m a sucker (haha) for any twists on Dracula, especially if they pair up Lucy and Mina.

Beloved by Toni Morrison / The Stolen Heir by Holly Black / The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin

These are three books I definitely feel like I should have read by now. Beloved because it’s a classic, The Stolen Air because I absolutely loved Folk of the Air, and The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms because Jemisin is such a brilliant writer and I’ve loved everything I’ve read by her.

So there we have it – 10 books from my current Bookish Wishlist. And if you have reviewed any of these, please let me know as I’d love to know what you thought.
