What questions would you ask any author if you had the chance?
(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
This is a hard one because it feels like there are so many authors I would just love to actually sit down and talk to. And my questions would totally depend on who it was I was speaking to. Twitter is kind of a great place for getting to know authors a little, beyond what would have been possible in the past. Okay, what I’m going to do instead is pick five of the recent books I really enjoyed and see what I would ask those particular authors.
Charlotte Nicole Davis – I’d love to discuss The Good Luck Girls, and especially the kind of research conducted in crafting it. Not necessarily the non-fiction research, but if there was any particular other forms of media that gave inspiration for it.
Elodie Nowodazkij – I just finished #Sweets for Love, and it’s an adorably sweet book! What I’d like to ask Elodie – who is your number #1 book boyfriend, and how do you think Ryan and Alessandro are going to get on as brothers-in-law? I imagine lots of friendly bickering over who gets to control the BBQ!
Sangu Mandanna – I loved The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches so so much, and I think what I’d like to ask Mandanna is what one, key thing does she hope readers walk away from the book thinking?
Chloe Liese – I read If Only You, and now I have the first book of the series in my Kindle just waiting to go! The question I’d pose to Liese is what is the hardest part of writing a romance series about different siblings?
So yeah, those are the sort of questions I’d ask if I could. I’m absolutely fascinated by writers’ different processes, and what they do to craft these really effective, wonderful books, so in general I think with any writer that’s the sort of questions I’d want to ask.
