This was really fun to do last time so I thought I’d dive back in. You can tell at the time of writing this I recently went to see Barbie, right? Honestly, the film is absolutely brilliant, and I can’t wait until it’s out on…well, whatever platform, but if there’s a blu-ray I’ll probably pick it up because I really, really want to watch it again! I adored Hari Nef – she was brilliant on screen (like most of the cast, to be honest!) and outside Margot Robbie I think she was my favourite Barbie. So I thought I’d pick her for my next Book Casting, where I pick out three book based roles I think the actor would be absolutely perfect in.
Previously: Scott Michael Foster
Hari Nef

IMDB
Roles I Know Her For: Barbie – Barbie, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel – L. Roy Dunham
Books
A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall

Adaptation Type: Film – Historical Romance
Role: Viola Caroll
I adored Viola. This book is an epic, sweeping romance with two absolutely fantastic characters at its core, and which requires some absolutely fantastic actors to play them. Yes, okay, Viola is British, but if Nef could pull off the accent, I’d absolutely be cheering her on in this role. I honestly think she’d do it so well.

Adaptation Type: TV Series – Rom-Com
Role: Ziggy Bergman
Yes, this is the sixth book in the series but I haven’t read any of the previous ones (yet), but even just based on this one, this series itself could make a really fun sports romance TV series, like a contemporary, sporty Bridgerton – one series per sibling. And I think Nef would make an excellent Ziggy. She’s such a fun character, a woman who is really underestimated by everyone around her.
The Man With No Shadow by Bonnie Quinn

Adaptation Type: TV Series – Horror
Role: Kate
Yes, you have likely heard me rave about this book before. Stepping away from Romance, I would love to see Nef take on a darker, more action-y type role where she gets to kick some ass. And this book would make such a fantastic TV series (don’t forget to check out the audio version done by The NoSleep Podcast – absolutely amazing).
What do you think? Are there other book roles you’d like to see Hari Nef in? Or any other books you have an ideal actor in mind for?
