Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme that was originally created and hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books starting in August 2019, and was then cohosted with Dani @ Literary Lion from May 2020 to March 2022. Book Nook Bits has hosted since April 2022.
A bonus post for today! Alongside my Blogtober post it’s also Friday, so it’s time for Let’s Talk Bookish, and as always there’s a really interesting question for today.

What Qualifies as an “All-Time Favorite Book?”
(Jillian @ Jillian the Bookish Butterfly)
Prompts: What books would you say are your all-time favorites? Do you have lots of them, or just a few? What makes a book one of your all-time favorites?
I find it really hard to pin down all time favourites, partly because I’m lucky enough to read so many excellent books quite regularly, and it feels like I’m always discovering new ‘favourites’, or at least new “omg this book is amazing” books. However, I think my favourites tend to be ones I think of often, or try and reread whether it’s going back to the book or discovering in a new format – if it’s a favourite, I never tire of the story.
Two that immediately spring to mind when I think of favourites – Interview with the Vampire, and Dracula. I read Interview before Dracula, but by the time I got to Dracula I knew most of the story from films. The books of course are vastly different, but both contributed to a lifelong love of vampires, in different ways, and I am so excited for the Interview TV series to finally hit here in the UK.
One of the best books I’ve read in recent years was Her Majesty’s Royal Coven, along with A Declaration of the Rights of Magicians. Both of these I would definitely put in my top five. But I feel like I have different favourites for different genres, and I read so many of these they are constantly shifting.
I think what makes a book a favourite is how much space it takes up in my brain, how much I keep thinking about the characters and the plot after I’ve finished reading, and how keen I’d be after to dive back into the same world or another book by the same author.
