#5OnMyTBR: Happy 4 Years of #5OnMyTBR Freebie!

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook  and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.

Well, a big Happy Birthday to #5OnMyTBR! I know I’m relatively new to #5OnMyTBR, but I love doing it so much, and I’ve had a lot of fun looking at my TBR every week. And a huge thank you to E, who hosts this every week.

As this was a freebie, I thought for this week, I’d highlight some of my older TBR titles, specifically: books older than 4 years!

#5OnMyTBR March 25th: Books Older Than #5OnMyTBR

Shakespearean Gothic by Christy Desmet and Anne Williams

Genre: Non-Fiction – Literary Criticism
Age: Adult
Format: Hardback
Published: September 27th, 2009

I loved reading Welsh Gothic, and I’m really looking forward to this book from the same series. It’s definitely a really interesting series of books, and as someone who loves the gothic, loves Shakespeare, and thought Welsh Gothic contained absolutely fascinating insights, I think this is going to be a really great read.

A Paradox of Fates by Rebecca Hefner

Genre: Sci-Fi Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: February 25th, 2020

I do pick up some random books on my kindle. I mean…this one sounds like it’s going to be fun. The MCs are in their late 30s and 40s too so that’s kind of refreshing. I love trying genres and subgenres I haven’t read before, and I’ve not really ventured into Sci-Fi Romance fully, so I’m looking forward to this one.

Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett

Genre: Fantasy
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: August 1st, 1989

This book isn’t just older than #5OnMyTBR – it’s older than me! Yes, I know the Discworld books can be read in any order, but I have read most of them in order and I only have 1 book to read before Guards! Guards!, it’s just a matter of getting my hands on it. Which I might try and do relatively soon, actually, as I really am keen to read this!

Maria the Wanted and the Legacy of the Keepers by V. Castro

Genre: Horror – Urban Fantasy
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: November 28th, 2018

I need to read this like yesterday. V is a great writer, and this book sounds so much like something I’d really enjoy. I’m totally in love with that cover, too, because how could you not be?

The Governess Affair by Courtney Milan

Genre: Historical Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: April 21st, 2012

I’ve heard so many good things about Milan as a writer, and it’s taken me way too long to actually read one of her books. But this one looks so good, and I’m always keen to give a new HR series a go.

As always, I’d love to hear if you’ve read any of these, or if they’re on your TBR. Do you have any upcoming books to read that came out more than 4 years ago?
