Yes, another instalment of That Dreaded TBR, and we are on number 60! We are currently up to December 2013, and slowly we’re getting this list down, a little at a time. Going through 5 books at a time means I have gone through 300 books during this series, and the last book I kept from #59 is number 135 – 165 books taken off my Want to Read! Over half! I think that’s pretty good, so let’s keep going and see if we can get it down some more today.

136. The Wildman
Rick Hautala

Genre: Horror
Published: January 1st, 2008
Group of friends…something happened when they were kids…they meet later…there’s a secret agenda to their reunion…the whole setup feels so, so overdone by this point, I wouldn’t expect this to be anything except an ‘IT-lite’.
Status: Gone
137. Savage Season
Joe R. Lansdale

Genre: Crime
Published: August 1st, 1990
Ha. Okay, SO, until very recently, this would have been an automatic ‘stay’. Unfortunately, Lansdale showed himself up and went to bat defending a guy who harassed women (and others, for years) in the horror community. So, no thanks – this one goes. Without any additional thought to it.
Status: Gone
138. Dusk
Tim Lebbon

Genre: Horror – Dark Fantasy
Published: January 1st, 2006
Tim Lebbon, on the other hand, is definitely an author I want to read more of, so like the last one it’s a very easy answer, though the answer is very different to the last one.
Status: Keep
139. Unicorn Western: Full Saga
Sean Platt, Johnny B. Truant

Genre: Fantasy Western
Published: May 20th, 2013
I can’t believe a book like this exists – I’m not usually a Western person but apparently throw in a unicorn and I’m there. Unicorns feel very underutilized now, we really don’t see much of them, and this cover intrigues me.
Status: Keep
140. The Twelfth Enchantment
David Liss

Genre: Historical Fantasy
Published: August 9th, 2011
This one actually sounds kind of intriguing, and I’ve really been enjoying historical fantasy in recent years, plus this is set in the Regency era and features Lord Byron – I think it’s worth giving a go!
Status: Keep
Two out of five gone isn’t too bad, and they were all relatively easy decisions. As always, if you’ve read any of these or have any thoughts on the choices made, please feel free to share them below!
