#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.
I love the ‘starting with letter’ prompts for #5OnMyTBR – they’re easy to find, but very hard to narrow down! But these ones are definitely all books I am very excited to read.
#5OnMyTBR April 15th: Title Starting With an ‘A’
A Radical Act of Free Magic by H.G. Parry

Genre: Historical Fantasy
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: July 20th, 2021
I really loved the first book of The Shadow Histories, and am very excited to dig into this one. It has been a while, but this is one of my reading challenges books, so I’m hoping I can get to it quite soon.
Agony’s Lodestone by Laura Keating

Genre: Horror
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: April 8th, 2023
There’s no good reason I haven’t read this yet – just don’t happen to have picked it up. I do need to, and it sounds really gripping, centring around Aggie and her missing sister. Think I need to try really hard to get it onto one of my reading challenge prompts.
An Inheritance of Magic by Benedict Jacka

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: October 5th, 2023
This one sounds interesting and the cover is really striking – Urban Fantasy is definitely something I want to read more of, as I do love it as a genre and haven’t picked it up for a long while, so it’ll be great to venture back into it.
Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé

Genre: Mystery Thriller
Age: Young Adult
Format: ebook and Paperback
Published: June 1st, 2021
This has come up on one of these lists a couple of times now (I think), and I’m edging ever closer to actually reading it. It feels like it’s been a long time in coming, and I’m excited to finally dive in. It’s not my usual genre, but this one definitely grabbed my attention.
An Education in Malice by S.T. Gibson

Genre: Horror – Gothic
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: February 13th, 2024
I have a couple of S.T. Gibson books on my TBR, and they really do sound like stuff I’d enjoy – dark, gothic, vampires, queer – all things that make my heart sing. I haven’t got round to this yet, but hopefully I will before long.
I’m really looking forward to reading all of these, and as always, if you have read any, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Loved it, hated it, or any recommendations for books beginning with ‘A’?
