#5OnMyTBR: Romance

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook  and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.

It is safe to say I have A LOT of romances on my TBR – they range from Historical to Contemporary, Fantasy to Paranormal, and everything between. Although I have been reading romance for quite a while now, I still feel like there is so much to explore within the genre, and I’m enjoying every step, even if I don’t always like what I’m reading (can’t like everything all the time, even in genres I love!). Still, here are 5 books on my TBR I have kind of high hopes for.

#5OnMyTBR April 22nd: Romance

A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole

Subgenre: Paranormal
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: March 28th, 2006

I really hope I can get to this one soon – it’s been sitting on my TBR for a while now, and feels like it’s constantly staring at me, just urging me to pick it up. I don’t think it’ll be that much longer though, thankfully.

Whispers of Light by Jennifer Monroe

Subgenre: Historical – Regency
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: September 28th, 2019

I have quite a lot of ‘random’ romance books on my kindle, thanks to the generosity of romance authors in putting their books on sale/for free, and this is one of them. I’m really hoping to get through a fair few this year, and this Regency Romance definitely caught my eye.

He’s A 10 by Jessica Yale

Subgenre: Sports Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Expected Publication: May 30th, 2024

Considering my interest in sports is…low, I actually really like the few sports romances I’ve read. And this sounds super cute. It’s one of the newest additions to my TBR, so I’m excited to dig in.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Subgenre: Contemporary
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: November 5th, 2019

This has popped up on a few of these lists by now, and it’s beyond time I read it. I loved Take a Hint, and I have no doubt I’ll enjoy this one just as much!

The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood

Subgenre: Contemporary
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Expected Publication: July 2nd, 2024

This is another new addition and one I’m really excited to read. I like when romance blends in fantasy and paranormal elements, and this sounds like a really cute premise.

As always, if you’ve read any of these I’d love to hear your thoughts, and maybe you have some on your own TBR, too. What about romances you’re really looking forward to reading? Any particular romance subgenre you prefer over others?
