#5OnMyTBR: Multiple POVs

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook  and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.

This week’s #5OnMyTBR was a little tricky, and it definitely took a bit of digging into the books to check which did have multiple POVs. For this week, all five books are ones that are upcoming on my reading challenges, so hopefully it won’t be too long before I read them!

#5OnMyTBR August 26th: Multiple POVs

Four Eids and a Funeral by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé, Adiba Jaigirdar

Genre: Contemporary – Romance
Age: Young Adult
Format: ebook
Published: June 4th, 2024

Why I Want to Read: This book sounds so cute, but in a way that still allows for some tackling of social justice issues. I really like the ‘ex-best friends’ angle, too, as it can often add that layer of tension in romances, with different vibes than ex-partners. I’m looking forward to seeing how these two work together to save their Islamic Center.

Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé

Genre: Contemporary – Thriller
Age: Young Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: June 1st, 2021

Why I Want to Read: Yes, another book by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé but very different to Four Eids! This has been on my TBR for a long time, basically since all the buzz around it when it was released. A lot of people seemed to talk about this one, and the premise is intriguing.

All That Remains by Sheri Lewis Wohl

Genre: Romance – Fantasy
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: September 1st, 2021

Why I Want to Read: This sounds a little different from most books I read, but still within the stuff I usually like, if that makes sense – it sounds like there’s a bit of a thriller element to it, and it’s a sapphic romance, and it’s always great to have more sapphic romances to dive into! Plus one of the MCs has a dog, and sometimes I feel like what I need in my life is more MCs with dogs!

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: November 5th, 2019

Why I Want to Read: Firstly, I started this series out of order, with book 2 – Take a Hint, Dani Brown. I absolutely loved it, adored Hibbert’s writing style and the characters, and thought there was a great balance between the two POVs. So I am very excited to go back and read book 1!

A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: March 28th, 2006

Why I Want to Read: As a vampire obsessed teen, I kind of stumbled on some Paranormal Romance novels before I even knew what Paranormal Romance was. Right now, it feels like PR has been, um, ‘overtaken’ by ‘Romantasy’, and the lines seem very blurred between the two, but then a lot of Paranormal Romance fell into Urban Fantasy and vice versa, but all that aside, I am very much keen to return to my ‘roots’, in a sense, and dive into some proper old school (well that makes me feel old) Paranormal Romance.

I would love to hear if you’ve read any of these, or your recommendations for multiple POV books, and which ones are on your TBR that you’re looking forward to!
