Monday Moods: Mythical

Monday Moods is a weekly bookish meme created and hosted by Unwrapping Words (aka, me!). The premise is simple: every week, there’s a new ‘mood’, ranging from tropes to genres or actual moods (happy, sad, etc). On a Monday, feel free to post about books on your TBR, books you’d recommend, or a mix – whatever you like – that fits the ‘mood’ prompt. And of course, you can use your own if you’re not fussed on a particular one!

I Want to Read This Because this one was featured last week, under ‘Historical’, and I feel like the more some of these books pop up, the closer I am to reading them. It’s very much the same reasons as last time – it seems like an interesting take on Medusa and the Gorgons.

I Want to Read This Because it sounds really different and very interesting – I don’t think I often see works inspired by Slavic myths. It sounds like it might get pretty dark, too, and again, I don’t think I often see dark fantasy aimed at a YA audience, so I’m really curious about this one.

I Want to Read This Because I’m always intrigued by how non-Welsh writers write about Wales. I’m familiar with the myth this one is referencing, and I’m hoping I enjoy this retelling.
