Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
If I had to pick out my favourite words, I really feel like I could sit here all day every day for weeks trying to pick them out. But seeing as it is currently Blogtober (and I can’t believe I’m still somehow managing to do a post for every day!) I decided to focus on my favourite autumn and Halloween related words!
Top Ten Favourite Autumn & Halloween Words
1. Jack-o-Lantern / 2. Pumpkin / 3. Eerie / 4. Chills / 5. Hobgoblin
6. Harvest / 7. Hibernate / 8. Cosy / 9. Bonfire / 10. Crisp
With all of these, I love the way they sound, the images they conjure (conjure – another great one!) and the ideas they invoke! This really is my favourite season, and I love the lead up to Halloween and the way autumn clings on at the start of November – I think Halloween and Bonfire Night are my two favourite holidays of the year, and anything that makes me think of them brings me joy.
What about you? Any favourite season specific words?

Hobgoblin is a great Halloweenie word! 😃
