#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook and you can learn more about it here or in the post announcing it. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.
This is a fun one! Space! Who doesn’t love adventures in space? I usually include format and genre for this, but they’re actually all ebooks and all Sci-Fi! Let me know if you’ve read any, and what you thought of them!
#5OnMyTBR May 29th: Space
Black Spire by Delilah S. Dawson

Yes this is here again (after appearing on my #5OnMyTBR Friendship post) which is probably a good sign I need to hurry up and read it! I do need to read more of the Star Wars books too – Yoda knows my boyfriend has so many! – and I do think I’d enjoy them, I just haven’t got around to this one quite yet.
Screams from the Voice by Anne Tibbets

This sounds different enough but close enough to Alien I feel like it’s going to be a really fun read. It sounds like the relationships are going to be a core part of this, and I’m looking forward to diving in when I can and seeing how this all pans out.
The Art of Space Travel and Other Stories by Nina Allan

I love a good short story collection, and this one makes some promises I really, really hope it keeps. Even if it doesn’t, I’m sure there’ll be at least of handful of stories in here that I’ll enjoy, whether they’re set in space or not.

Earth’s population flees due to the environmental destruction of Earth and they’re prevented from returning home, and if that doesn’t sound like an intriguing enough premise, well the rest of the blurb does! I don’t often request Sci-Fi on NetGalley, because I find most of it isn’t really up my street, but this (and of course all the other books mentioned here!) sounds interesting and adventurous enough to draw me in, especially with the comparison to Firefly.
Seven Mercies by Elizabeth May & Laura Lam

To start, I really need to read more by both of these authors! Secondly, I definitely really need to read this follow up to Seven Devils. I adored the first book, and it’s the exact kind of sci-fi I like – plenty of adventure, drama, tension, some romance and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I’ve really tried with some ‘harder’ stuff, but it tends to go over my head, I admit. But Seven Devils? Absolutely excellent, and I yelped for joy when I got approved for this. Now it’s just a matter of actually reading, which I intend to do…at some point!
So there we have it – five space books I have on my TBR! Don’t they all look great? I just wish I had more time to read all the books I want to read. Ah well, maybe one day I’ll actually use some self-restraint the ever growing TBR will shrink, even if it’s not by much. But we’ll see.
