Top Ten Tuesday: Covers That Feel Like Summer

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Ah, love all the summer prompts coming through at the moment for various things. The sun really has been shining here too, and it’s so nice to be able to have all the windows open right now. I don’t like being too hot, but when it’s just hot enough to feel comfy in shorts and t-shirt, with a window open so I can hear the birds chirping away, it’s kind of lovely.

So there we have it. Sometimes it’s the colours on a book that make me think of summer, and these can be anything from softer colours – light blue and yellow, conjuring images of sand and sea – to harsher, hotter colours like red and orange, making me think of fire. Sometimes the book has nothing to do with summer, but the colours make me think of that time of year when spring changes into summer. And at times the summer imagery might be positive, comforting, while at others it’s harsh and raging and evocative of something less pleasant (summer can be dangerous, after all!).

But there we have it – a handful of covers that make me think of summer!
