Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Autumn 2023 To-Read List

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Similar to my previous TBR lists for this year, I’m working my way through some Reading Challenges, so those have been the books I’ve been focusing on. I’m not doing too bad, either, though I’ve set aside the Netflix Challenge for now, as the other two I’m doing are both specific to 2023. Glancing over my summer list, I’m very glad to see I’ve actually managed to read most of them! Let’s hope I can get through a lot of these ones, too.

Autumn TBR

The Rose Daughter by Maria Lewis (Disney Reading Challenge) / The Hollow Kind by Andy Davidson (2023 Tarot Reading Challenge)

Starting off with two of the challenge books I hope to read next. The Rose Daughter is 7 in a series, but I’m hoping it’s a series you can jump into the book without having read the previous ones? Hopefully, anyway. And The Hollow Kind I’ve been eyeing up for a while, so I’m excited for this. Both are NetGalley books, so will be trying to get them read and reviewed soon.

Under the Dome by Stephen King (Disney Reading Challenge) / A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole (Disney Reading Challenge)

Under the Dome has been at the top of my Goodreads Want to Read shelf for, quite literally, years, so this seemed like a good opportunity to finally read it. As for A Hunger Like No Other, this is one I purchased very recently, after listening to the Fated Mates podcast, and immediately found a place for it on the challenges list – I admit, I’m slightly obsessed with the cover, and I’m really excited about this one. Both of these I have as physical books.

Silent Key by Laurel Hightower / A Light Most Hateful by Hailey Piper / Out There Screaming Edited by Jordan Peele

As we are in spooky season, there are three NetGalley books I specifically want to try and read during autumn. Laurel and Hailey are both excellent writers, and I was so privileged to get to edit A Woman Built By Man which they’re both featured in, so I am super excited for these two new releases from them (seriously, check out their work, because both are freaking amazing!). And Out There Screaming is an anthology I think I literally screamed when I heard about it – I love Peele’s film work, and the fact he’s put this together is brilliant. Can’t wait to dive into it.

Three Holidays and a Wedding by Uzma Jalaluddin & Marissa Stapley / Only for Christmas by Tracy Corbett / Flying Home for Christmas by Helen Whitaker

For some it might be a little early to start thinking of Christmas reads, but after the last couple of years I kind of want to get on with these a little early – I’ll probably make a start on them around mid to end of October, so I have plenty of time to read and review for December. These are all NetGalley books, and I’m hoping to get through as many of my NG Christmas reads as possible this year!

So there’s my current autumn TBR – have you read any of these? What kind of books are on your TBR for this season?
