#5OnMyTBR: Warrior

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook  and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.

This was a fun one! I do admit, I have a few “warrior” romances on my TBR, thanks to romance events like Stuff Your Kindle, and although these kind of dominate my 5 this week, I have tried to included a couple of other ones, too.

Warrior

Erik by Hildie McQueen

Format: ebook
Genre: Historical Romance
Published: October 28th, 2022

Why I Want to Read: Something I love about romance is that it is so easy to try different things – Romance as a genre has a huge amount of subgenres, and the indie romance writers often take part in events like Stuff Your Kindle or put their books on Amazon on offer quite frequently. I’ve been dipping my toe in and out of historical romances, and trying to read different ones to see what I like, and this one is definitely a different kind than I’ve read before. I’m excited for it!

Crucible of Chaos by Sebastien de Castell

Format: ebook
Genre: Fantasy
Release Date: December 7th, 2023

Why I Want to Read: Okay, I’m bending ‘warrior’ a little here, but sword-fighting magistrates known as the Greatcoats sounds like warriors, right? This one I’m really excited for, too, it just sounds a bit different but with plenty going on.

Leif by Celeste Barclay

Format: ebook
Genre: Historical Romance
Release Date: March 25th, 2019

Why I Want to Read: Okay, this is definitely for the same reasons as the kind-of-similar Erik at the top here – I’m trying different things in romance, and this book ended up on my Kindle. I’m looking forward to trying this Viking romance as it’s not something I’ve read before.

Talonsister by Jen Williams

Format: ebook
Genre: Fantasy
Published: September 12th, 2023

Why I Want to Read: Because it sounds great! Honestly, this is one of those books I was instantly drawn right into when I initially saw it, and it sounds like it’s going to tackle some pretty interesting themes.

My Highland Warrior by Miriam Minger

Format: ebook
Genre: Historical Romance
Published: January 19th, 2021

Why I Want to Read: Doesn’t this look fun? And of course I had to include one book with warrior in the title! This one goes with similar reasons to Leif and Erik, in that it’s something a bit different for me, and I’m looking forward to trying it!

As always if you have read any of these, I’d love to know your thoughts! Or are any of these on your TBR? Or perhaps you’re tempted by them now? Let me know!
