#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.
And first of December’s #5OnMyTBR is perfect for Blogmas – Titles Starting with a ‘C’! Weirdly I actually didn’t have any that started with the word Christmas, and only one book of the lot caught my eye for being a Christmas book, but these are some awesome looking books no matter what!

Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up by Alexandra Potter

Format: Paperback
Genre: Contemporary
Published: December 31st, 2020
Why I Want to Read: I admit, I picked this up because of the show (loosely?) based on the book, I have no idea how much they have in common, but it seems like the type of book I’ll really enjoy if it’s well written. I love a good rom com novel, but the tricky part is finding the really good ones!

Format: ebook
Genre: Fantasy – Romance
Published: June 24th, 2016
Why I Want to Read: A fantasy romance retelling with a Black, trans Cinderella, who falls in love with the princess. How could I not want to read this?
Cack-Handed: A Memoir by Gina Yashere

Format: ebook
Genre: Non-Fiction – Memoir/Biography
Published: June 8th, 2021
Why I Want to Read: I don’t often read memoirs – there has to be something totally compelling in it for me to pick it up. This one is purely because it’s Gina Yashere – she was always funny whenever I caught her on TV, and her stand-up is great. So yeah, this is one of the few memoirs that’s really grabbed my attention.
Covet the Night by Rebecca Main

Format: ebook
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Published: October 25th, 2021
Why I Want to Read: Vampires. Pure and simple. I love vampires, I love reading about vampires – I love them as antagonistic monsters in horror, or love interests in romance or just…morally grey and unpredictable in any genre they turn up in. I’m excited to see this version of them.
Countdown to Christmas by Jo Thomas

Format: ebook
Genre: Romance
Published: October 12th, 2023
Why I Want to Read: I have been gradually increasing my amount of ‘seasonal’ reading over the last few years, but it’s really around Christmas where we get a lot of holiday themed romances, and I love it. I really enjoy digging into these in the lead up to the big day, and this year I made sure to start my Christmas reading relatively early to give myself enough time. This one sounds really sweet, too, so I’m hoping I can read it soon!
Have you read any of these or have them on your TBR? If you have read them, I’d love to hear what you think, or let me know what books you have on your TBR that you’re really looking forward to!
