#5OnMyTBR: Humour

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook  and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.

I do love some humour in my books – depending on the genre, of course! But it’s nice to have those moments to laugh at or with the characters, and it can often serve really well as a ‘break’ if there’s high tension throughout. But books that specifically fall under ‘humour’ I think can be harder to identify, at times, when it’s paired with another genre, and humour can be specific, of course, but these are 5 books on my TBR that, as always, I’m looking forward to, that are hopefully funny enough to make me laugh at least a few times!

#5OnMyTBR April 1st: Humour

Mammy Banter: The Secret Life of an Uncool Mum by Serena Terry

Genre: Contemporary
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: March 3rd, 2022

I really enjoyed The Sh!te Before Christmas, and I hope we get to see more from Serena Terry! Reading that made me pick up Mammy Banter, and I have no doubt when I read it, I’ll love it just as much.

Chez Stinky by Susan C. Daffron

Genre: Romantic Comedy
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: July 18th, 2013

I’m expecting something fairly fun from the title of this alone! Not to mention the series itself is marketed as romantic comedies, so I have high hopes. If I’m honest, I’d be over the moon with an inheritance including dogs and cats, so I’m excited to see how the MC handles the situation.

Happy Medium by Sarah Adler

Genre: Romantic Comedy
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Expected Publication: April 30th, 2024

This is a new-to-me writer, but this book looks so fun – focusing on a fake spirit medium, who ends up meeting an actual, real ghost. Feels like a good chance for some wonderfully funny scenes, so I’m hoping this lives up to my expectations.

Fireball by Lainey Davis

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: May 10th, 2022

The cover looks so cute! It’s the first book in a series which currently has 2 books, so at least if I like this I know where I can get more. A tech CEO and a science teacher? Cute!

Look Out for the Little Guy by Scott Lang

Genre: Humour
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: September 5th, 2023

If you’re not familiar with the MCU, Scott Lang is Ant-Man, and his last film featured his biography, Look Out for the Little Guy. So you can imagine my joy when I discovered they were actually publishing this. Great move, and I’m really looking forward to reading this one.

As always if you’ve read any of these or have them on your TBR, or any humour recommendations, I’d love to hear from you!
