Top Ten Tuesday: Books with My Favorite Color on the Cover

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I love cover themes for Top Ten Tuesday! I find it quite fun going back and and looking over the covers for the books I’ve read. Some I have a really clear image in my head still, and am able to easily find them, others require a little more searching. Red is an interesting one as some covers look like they might have red, but a closer look reveals it’s more orange or pink. Anyway, here are my top ten books with red on the cover.

Top Ten Books With Red on the Cover

Jacked Up by Latrexa Nox

Genre: Paranormal Romance – Horror
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: November 24th, 2023

This book was so much fun! Hell of a ride! If you like slightly off-the-wall romances (here, we have a sentient object romance) with a bit of darkness, you might enjoy this one almost as much as I did. Make sure you take note of the content warnings, though.

I Feed her to the Beast and the Beast Is Me by Jamison Shea

Genre: Horror
Age: Young Adult
Format: ebook
Published: August 23rd, 2023
Review

This is a fantastic YA Horror, and that cover is absolutely stunning – I love the way the colours blend into each other, while Laure looks like she’s either about to dunk herself into or is emerging from the pool of blood. Absolutely great novel and I can’t wait for the second book.

Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree

Genre: Fantasy
Age: Adult
Format: Audiobook
Published: November 7th, 2023
Review

Just because I haven’t yet read Legends & Lattes didn’t mean I couldn’t absolutely adore this prequel – and I love the audio cover! The red for the font really, really stands out, and I love the shell and starfish in the corners. Beautiful.

The Supreme Lie by Geraldine McCaughrean

Genre: Sci-Fi – Dystopia
Age: Young Adult
Format: ebook
Published: April 15th, 2021
Review

This might be aimed at an older MG/younger YA audience, but there’s plenty here for adults to chew on, too. It’s a really good, effective dystopian novel, and one that feels especially relevant with our current climate crisis.

The Christmas Swap by Talia Samuels

Genre: Romance
Age: Adult

That red jumper! This book was adorable and made for an absolutely excellent Christmas romance. Definitely one I recommend picking up for the winter season.

I still really need to read the rest of this series. This book is great though, and I absolutely love that cover so much. It’s really striking, and one that fully stands out in my memory.

Revenge Arc by Cat Voleur

Genre: Horror
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback

Review

This book is excellent. That cover is excellent. Cat Voleur in general is just an excellent human being. But honestly, if you like well crafted horror, you’ll enjoy this. It’s found file format, and tackles the internet and parasocial relationships in a really interesting way. What more could you ask for?

Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle

Genre: Horror
Age: Adult
Format: ebook

This book, this freaking book still lives in my head rent free a year later. It’s great. Honestly. Horror at its best, and in the hands of a brilliantly talented author. Seriously. And that cover is consistently striking.

Santa Maybe by Mary Jayne Baker

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: December 1st, 2022
Review

This book was so freaking cute! And it’s perfect for that period of time just before we get fully into Christmas – so if you’re planning your November reading already, this is worth picking up. But as well as the book being super cute, look how adorable that cover is!

Have you read any of these, and what did you think? Or maybe one or two are on your TBR? What’s your favourite colour and do you have a book recommendation with that colour on the cover?
