Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme that was originally created and hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books starting in August 2019, and was then cohosted with Dani @ Literary Lion from May 2020 to March 2022. Book Nook Bits has hosted since April 2022.
This is a fun topic! This one is a little late, as I tend to do my posts in advance so I hadn’t seen this in time to post it for August 2nd, but it’s a really fun topic and I still wanted to talk about it!
Let’s Talk Bookish August 2nd 10th:
Blogging Essentials
Prompts: What could you not blog without? Do you have to have a posting schedule? Do you rely on a set TBR to make sure you get to all the books on your list? What have you discovered helps your blogging most?
Firstly, books! Without books I’d have very little to talk about. I’ve always been a big reader, but being able to get access to arcs and also events like Stuff Your Kindle means I now have more books than ever before – honestly, if you’d told me as a kid or teen how many books I’d have one day, I’d have laughed!
I do have a posting schedule, and since I worked that out and created an Excel spreadsheet to keep track, I have found blogging so much easier! It really helps guide me, and means I’m not sitting here stressing about posts and what I’m going to post and panicking over reviews. And it’s totally fine if for whatever reason I don’t post on that particular day, because usually there’s only a 1 or 2 day gap.
As for a set TBR, not particularly! What I found helpful before were the Top Ten Tuesday TBR posts, as it meant I could just check these and see what I was intending to read. Once I started doing Reading Challenges, I found these incredibly helpful, too, as they really helped direct my reading so I wasn’t spending ages agonising over my next read. They also help because they give me an additional post every month where I can provide updates on the challenges!
What helps my blogging the most are things like Let’s Talk Bookish, #5OnMyTBR, and Top Ten Tuesday – these give me set posts to do weekly, and ensure there’s always something I can write about, even if I amend the prompts or do something a little different. Again, it means I’m not spending a load of time trying to work out what to write!
With that said, I’d love to hear what your Blogging Essentials are! Link me to your own Let’s Talk Bookish post or let me know in the comments!

When I don’t feel a topic, I just skip it LOL. No brain capacity to think about a spin to be honest. Or I feel like repeating myself. TTT still is the best meme out there to be honest.

Sometimes I do but it really depends on if I get inspiration from the original, or sometimes time constraints. There’s very few I can’t think of anything for at all, which is lucky, but yeah I know what you mean about repeating yourself!
