2025 Reading Challenges Update #3

How did March go for you? I have to admit, I’m kind of excited by the fact it’s April. The weather is getting better and there are a few good things on my personal horizon that should make life a bit easier! I feel like I read quite a lot over March, too. One weekend I ended up finishing four books, which made me very happy!

Read

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again – Knowing Me, Knowing You – Book 2 or onwards in a series you’ve previously started

I took this one as an opportunity to finally read The Hemlock Queen. And I loved it! An excellent book 2, and it does exactly what a second book in a trilogy needs to do. Now I’m trying to be very patient in waiting for the third book!

Books to Read: The Fairy Tellers, The Story of Cardiff, Daisy Jones & The Six

AGATHA All ALONG – A sequel or the next book in a series

Another sequel prompt, but for this one I went for Garth Marenghi’s Incarcerat, and really glad I did – an absolutely brilliant book.

Anthropology – People long dead still have to tell interesting stories

For this, I dove into The Celts by Alice Roberts. It’s a really intriguing read, and a great starting point (I think!) for anyone interested in finding out more about the Celts.

Books to Read: Under the Banner of Heaven, We Can Be Heroes, Enchanted Wales

A book written by a Black author

I am loving Get a Life, Chloe Brown and think it’s proving itself an excellent choice! I love these two characters and I’m really having fun. They’re an adorable couple!

A book featuring an interracial couple

Unladylike Lessons in Love is a book I’ve been meaning to read for a long while, and I was really glad to find a prompt it fit! It’s interesting so far and I’m really enjoying the way the two main characters are connecting.

Read

A book written by an Asian author

The Governess Affair was an excellent, wonderful novella. It really grabbed my attention right from the start and refused to let go!

Books to Read: In Memoriam, TBC

voyage

This was such a great opportunity to read Voyage of the Damned. I got it on Audiobook, and I’m loving it. The narration for this especially is brilliant.

Read

wicked

I adored To Gaze Upon Wicked Gods – I’m working on my review at the moment, and finding I have a lot more to say than I can probably fit in there!

story/stories

I wasn’t as impressed with The Art of Space Travel and Other Stories. I just really didn’t click with any the stories in this collection.

Books to Read: The Monster MASH, The Forest of Stars, Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter

Netflix Movies & TV Shows
14/24 (0) Prompts Completed

I’ve mentioned before that this one is kind of on pause, for the time being. But I like putting it here to remind myself that I need to get a move on with it, and that there are some excellent books I’m really looking forward to reading on this challenge!

Books to Read: So You Want to Talk About Race, Daisy Jones & The Six, All That Remains

How was your month? Any standout books from March? I do feel like I had a really good reading month, and I’m unlikely to finish 8 books in one month again anytime soon, but I’m really happy with how it went!
