Monday Moods: Romance

Welcome to Monday Moods, where each week I’ll spotlight books fitting a particular ‘mood’. I did the first one of these last week, and if there’s some interest in them I’ll happily add a page to this site with future ‘moods’. For now, please feel free to take part and link back to my post, whether you’re spotlighting TBR books or books you’ve read and would recommend for one of the ‘moods’.

This Week, I’m in the Mood For…
Romance

A Midnight Kiss on Ever After Street
Jaimie Admans

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: July 4th, 2023

I Want to Read This Because I read the fourth book in this series, the Christmas romance, Christmas Ever After, and absolutely loved it. I adored the setting and the different characters, and it really made me want to check out the rest of the series, starting with book 1!

The Stars Too Fondly
Emily Hamilton

Genre: Sci-Fi Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: June 11th, 2024

I Want to Read This Because queer sci-fi! I really find sci-fi to be a bit hit or miss for me – I like ‘lighter’ stuff, sci-fi that veers more towards the fantasy aspect than science, and I’m not a fan of ‘military’ sci-fi. But this is described as part space odyssey, part sapphic rom-com, so it’s one I’m very much expecting I’ll enjoy.

Space Army Recruits: Day 1
Kinley Grey

Genre: Sci-Fi Romance – Erotica
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: January 24th, 2018

I Want to Read This Because it just sounds fun and possibly a little silly. I don’t read a whole lot of erotica, so I’m definitely going into this with an open mind.

Match Me If You Can
Swati Hegde

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: June 4th, 2024

I Want to Read This Because it sounds right up my street, it sounds very sweet and fun, and also it’s set in Mumbi – I’m not sure if I’ve even read a book set in Mumbi before, so I’m excited to visit via this book.

In Memoriam
Alice Winn

Genre: Historical
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: March 7th, 2023

I Want to Read This Because although tonally this book sounds very different than the ones mentioned above, the premise is really gripping, with the focus n two young men as WWI hits. I imagine this is going to be a hard but worthwhile read.
