Monday Moods is a weekly bookish meme created and hosted by Unwrapping Words (aka, me!). The premise is simple: every week, there’s a new ‘mood’, ranging from tropes to genres or actual moods (happy, sad, etc). On a Monday, feel free to post about books on your TBR, books you’d recommend, or a mix – whatever you like – that fits the ‘mood’ prompt. And of course, you can use your own if you’re not fussed on a particular one!
It’s December already! Have you started getting ready for Christmas (if you celebrate it!) yet? Or maybe you’re way ahead and have everything sorted! This is the time of year when many take part in Blogmas, but due to time constraints I’m not doing Blogmas this year. However, this month’s Monday Moods prompts are all suitably themed if you are taking part, so take a look and let me know if you use any in your Blogmas posts!
This Week, I’m in the Mood For…
Snow
Cold Snap
Lindy Ryan

Genre: Horror
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: October 15th, 2024
I Want to Read This Because yes I used this last week, but it is coming up on my TBR and it does fit both. It’s Christmas themed horror, which is fairly different, and sounds intriguing at least. I’m interested to see what exactly happens in this novella, and I’m really glad it’s coming up soon as it should be good Christmas reading.
Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night
Kresley Cole

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: September 24th, 2007
I Want to Read This Because I wouldn’t normally post a book in a series where it isn’t the next book in the series, but this one popped in my head and, you know what, I’m really looking forward to it! It’s the third book and I need to read the second first, but I loved the first so, so much I’ll be looking to continue the series ASAP.
A Snowlit Christmas Kiss
Larissa Lyons

Genre: Historical (Regency) Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: November 30th, 2024
I Want to Read This Because a cat playing matchmaker in a Christmas regency romance…I’ve really enjoyed the holiday themed regency romances I’ve read, and this one sounds delightful!
Snowblooded
Emma Sterner-Radley

Genre: Historical Fantasy
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: May 9th, 2024
I Want to Read This Because I really enjoy historical fantasy – I love seeing different time periods with fantastical elements added, especially when it’s a strong balance between the historical and fantasy. This one sounds like a lot of fun!
Gift of Snow
C.K. Carhart

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: March 27th, 2024
I Want to Read This Because a snow witch and antlered priest…sounds pretty different and interesting, especially with a mystery at its centre. Like historical fantasy, I typically enjoy books that cross between paranormal romance and urban fantasy, so hoping this lives up to expectations.
Any snow themed books on your TBR, or any you’d recommend? As always, just let me know!
