It has been way too long since I was able to do one of these posts, but with my recent hiatus I’ve got that little bit more room for stuff like this. So, as usual with these, I’m going through my Goodreads Want to Read shelf, seeing what still interests me and what no longer does, therefore can be removed. By this point, I have gone through 380 books. I’m still hoping to try and read some of the earliest books on here, but they’ve proven to be a little hard to get!

167. A Cold Season
Alison Littlewood

Genre: Horror – Thriller
Published: January 1st, 2002
I’m always intrigued by books that deal with grief, especially ones where a parent dies and the other is left to pick up the pieces. This one does sound intriguing, too, with the MC returning to the village where she grew up, but finding it strange and changed.

Scott Westerfeld

This sounds intriguing enough I think I’ll keep it on the list – a blend of steampunk sci-fi and historical fantasy, based around WWI. I do really enjoy historical fantasy, too – I love seeing how different authors introduce different fantasy elements and what changes they make, how it works with the time period.

This one stands out to me for some reason – it sounds interesting, definitely, but it also rings a bell somewhere in my brain and I can’t quite work out why! I think for that alone, this one stays.

Very much on the fence about this one – it sounds interesting, but I found myself getting just a little bored before I got to the end of the Goodreads blurb. Considering that…I can’t see myself picking this one up.

I’ve been through A LOT of zombie books from my Want to Read shelf, and it’s got to the point where it has to be completely intriguing and really instantly grab me from the blurb for me to keep it. This one doesn’t. I think there was such a rush with zombies around this time and some of what came out no longer interests me.
