Let’s Talk Bookish: Balancing Blogging and Life

August 26: Balancing Blogging and Life

Prompts: How do you manage balancing blogging and life? In what ways do school and work get in the way of blogging? Are there any ways that blogging can help with everyday life? Are there certain times of year when blogging becomes harder or more overwhelming?

I have found it much easier to balance blogging and life since sitting down and coming up with more of a structure, scheduling stuff in advance, and taking more note of things like tags and prompts etc. It means I’m not sitting stressing over exactly what to write or needing to come up with topics constantly, and it means I can just check what day I need to do my next post for, and either come up with something or do a Top Ten Tuesday/Let’s Talk Bookish etc post.

I’m happy with how I’ve fit the blog around work as well my writing and editing. I tend to write reviews into a word document, then go back and edit them, but with the other posts they go straight into WordPress, which means I can work on reviews and other posts at near enough the same time. In previous years it’s gotten to be a lot when it came to Blogtober and Blogmas, but now if I find it’s too much I do scale it back. I’m actually looking forward to trying them this year, especially if I can get things scheduled nice and early for September and then can dive straight in for Blogtober.

So, how do you find fitting in blogging around your other commitments?
