Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
These TBR lists are always great fun. More recently, I’ve been focusing on the books I need to read for my Reading Challenge. I will definitely be reducing the challenges I’m doing next year, and some of the current TBR books might change a little, as I’m really struggling. I also think I want a bit more variety next year, and leeway to read non-challenge books. So we’ll see how that all goes!
Fall/Autumn 2024 TBR
The First Days by Rhiannon Frater (Disney Reading Challenge 2024) / Doctor Who: The Knight, the Fool and the Dead: Time Lord Victorious (Musicals Reading Challenge 2024)
Starting with a few physical books. I still haven’t got around to The First Days – I do really want to read this by the end of this year, but I’m not entirely sure I will, as I’m trying really hard to complete my Musicals Challenge. Would be a shame if I didn’t finish the challenge I created! Speaking of, I am currently reading Shakespeare – which appeared on my Summer TBR – so the next physical book for this challenge is this Doctor Who one I’ve been meaning to read forever!

Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé (Barbie Reading Challenge) / So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo (Netflix Movies & TV Shows)
These two were also on my previous TBR post – physical books really take me longer to get to, and through, then ebooks, so for next year I’m definitely looking at adjusting how I pick out my books for my challenges so I don’t end up with one challenge (in this case, Barbie) with a load of physical books left to read. But where I’m going to cut down on the amount of challenges I do next year, too, I should be able to at least finally complete the Netflix one!

The Stars Too Fondly by Emily Hamilton (Disney Reading Challenge 2024) / What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez (Musicals Reading Challenge 2024)
I have been doing much better on ebooks, and I’m really excited to read both of these! I am hoping I can jump back into the Disney challenge, but as mentioned above my current focus is the Musical one, so I’ll be reading What the River Knows soon. I loved Together We Burn by the same author, so I have no doubt I’ll enjoy this one. But fingers crossed I can read The Stars Too Fondly soon as it looks so good!

A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole (Barbie Reading Challenge) / All That Remains by Sheri Lewis Wohl (Netflix Movies & TV Shows)
I only have physical books left on my Barbie Challenge, which makes me feel like although it’s short, I might not finish this one. I might try and have a look to see if I can amend some of these to ebooks, but we’ll see! But A Hunger Like No Other is the next book on that challenge, and one I really want to try and get to before the end of the year. Over on the Netflix Challenge, I’m hoping to get to All That Remains, too, as the book itself really intrigues me and it’s one I’m looking forward to.

A Christmas Ghost Story by Kim Newman / Maybe Next Christmas by Emma Heatherington
And finally, I’d really like to start on my Christmas reading during autumn. I usually aim to start Christmas books towards the end of September, so I have time to read and review for Blogmas. These two particularly are standing out as ones I want to read – both are authors I’ve read (and loved) before, so I’m keen to dive in!

I’m really hoping to get through as many of these as I can by the end of this year, if not before. For anyone who has seen my previous TBR posts, you might notice the Avengers Reading Challenge hasn’t been included here – this is because I actually completed it! It feels very nice to have that completely done now, leaving me to focus on these 4 instead. What does your TBR look like now for autumn?

These look like good books! I hope you enjoy them. 🩷🌺
