Blogmas Day 6: 2025 Reading Challenges

Usually I save this for the start of January and highlight a few books on my reading list, but Blogmas felt like a great time to just do a quick rundown of the challenges I’ll be taking part in next year. I’m doing 5 – mainly because they’re all relatively small, and cover the kind of books I really do want to read more of next year! I’ll be linking to the challenges on Storygraph, too, so you can have a look.

Netflix Movies & TV Shows
Hosted by nora_knight

Yes, I still haven’t finished this challenge I started back in 2023. But I have 10 books left on it, and hopefully with some of the other challenges I can cross post books and finally – finally! – get this finished. Oops! The reason this one dropped behind so much though was due to focusing on other challenges, so although I’m still doing a few challenges next year, there’s overall less books, so we’ll see.

Musicals Reading Challenge 2025
Hosted by me

I’ll do a more full post on this sometime later this month, in case you fancy taking part but aren’t on Storygraph. This is a challenge I created last year, and there’s new prompts for 2025. It runs all year and I really did have a lot of fun with it! Hopefully I’ll actually finish the 2024 Challenge soon.

2025 SFF Title Challenge
Hosted by adancewithbooks

This one caught my eye – I love reading SFF, and this one sounds so fun with matching up the titles to books. As much as I enjoy doing prompt based challenges, it isn’t always easy to find the ‘perfect fit’. This one has 16 prompts, and I think it’ll be interesting to see what books I end up with.

Be Curious – Non-Fiction Challenge 2025
Hosted by brynawel

I decided to take on this challenge because I’ve been trying to read more non-fiction and kind of struggling to. This one is only 12 books too, so shouldn’t be too taxing. I really like the different topics it covers too!

Romance Readers Diversity Challenge 2025
Hosted by matmatmatty

And, finally, a 12 book romance challenge! I love my romance, and should be able to hit one book a month fairly easily. The prompts are a mix of diverse authors and diverse characters, too, and covers sexuality, gender, disability and more, so I am very excited for this.

What challenges are you taking part in next year? What sort of challenges do you like doing? I’ll likely set my overall reading goal at 70 again, as it’s a number I feel quite happy with!
