Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
I love taking the opportunity to see what books I have coming up on my TBR, and looking back to see which ones I’ve managed to read from the previous post! I managed to read 7 books from my Spring TBR post, and one of them (Oxford Blood) I had to swap out for another due to issues with the ebook. With the books I have coming up, some of them – if I finish them – will be the end of that particular Reading Challenge, which is honestly really exciting for me!
Summer TBR
All the Hearts You Eat by Hailey Piper / Bodies of Work by Clay McLeod Chapman
(The Divination Hollow Reviews Horror Challenge 2026)
Excluding my current audiobook (Curse of the Reaper), these are the last two books on my DHR challenge! I’m really looking forward to both, too – I love Hailey Piper’s work, and this one features vampires! And I’ve heard lots of great stuff about Clay McLeod Chapman, so hopefully I’ll enjoy this novella!

London: The Biography by Peter Ackroyd / To the Death by Melissa Welliver
(Musicals Reading Challenge 2026)
London was on my TBR for Spring, but never quite got to it. It’s quite a hefty book, so I’ve been dodging it somewhat, but I think it’s about time I actually read it! To the Death I think I’ll end up reading relatively soon – it’s dystopian YA, and sounds intriguing!

The Diabolical Bones by Bella Ellis / Blackburn Station by Karen H. Lucia
(Twenty Genres in 2026)
There’s definitely a nice pattern emerging where, consistently, the next two books for each challenge are one physical and one ebook! The Diabolical Bones has been sitting on my shelf for a good long while, so I’m very excited to read it! And Karen Lucia is one of our very own DHR contributors – it’s always thrilling for me to get to read a book by a contributor!

The Fiends in the Furrows II Edited by David T. Neal / Maeve Fly by C.J. Leede
(Grim Readers 2026 Horror Reading Challenge)
I’m going to be upfront and say it was a bit of a mistake for me to do two horror reading challenges this year – I felt like I didn’t read as much horror as I would have liked last year, so I kind of…overcompensated. Thankfully they’re both short challenges and I’m not far from completing either. These two both sound interesting in their own ways, and Fiends is a paperback while Maeve Fly is an ebook, so I should be finished with the challenge as a whole relatively soon.

Homegrown Magic by Jamie Pacton & Rebecca Podos / Whipping Girl by Julia Serano
(Musicals Reading Challenge 2026 / Twenty Genres in 2026)
I’m really looking forward to both of these books! And in this list, Whipping Girl is currently the only audiobook. A few of the audiobooks I’ve been listening to this year have been a little lengthy, so I’ve been slower with getting through them. Once I get to these two books though, it’s likely it’ll be because the DHR Challenge has been completed!

How is your reading going for the year so far? If you’ve read any of these and want to share your thoughts and/or reviews, I’d love to hear them! I’m definitely pleased with how I’m getting on with the reading challenges, and very excited that I might complete one or two soon!

Never heard of any of these, but I hope you’ll enjoy them nonetheless!
