5 Star Book

This book is just so good – I completely fell in love with the characters and world T. Kingfisher created, and it’s a really great quest story with a wonderful cast of characters.

Always Going to Recommend

This book is just so brilliantly written, with plenty to keep a variety of fans hooked in and reading. I’ve recommended it so many times since reading it. Zetian is a great main character to follow, as she sets out to avenge her sister. If you haven’t already, definitely pick it up and give it a go!

Own It But Haven’t Read It Yet

This question feels almost cruel considering how many excellent books are waiting on my TBR, but having finally got around to watching Netflix’s adaptation of Shadow and Bone, this has jumped to the top of my list. I really want to return to that world, and I’m excited to see the differences between the show and the book.
Would Read Again

If I had the time, I would absolutely love to dive back into this book. It’s an excellent book by a truly great writer who just captures these characters and their emotions so well. I love when a book makes me feel truly tense, and I love when I feel like I’m totally rooting for the MC & LI. I’m really excited to catch up with her other books, hopefully this year!

In Another World

All of the above, but also this one, Witch, Cat and Cobb by J.K. Pendragon. Pendragon creates these great storylines with such brilliant characters and crams a lot of great stuff into such a short space. This and To Summon Nightmares – which is more Horror than Fantasy – are both great.

Back on Earth

This is definitely the first book that springs to mind. It’s Urban Fantasy combined with Cosmic Horror and like everything Jemisin turns her hand to, it’s brilliant. Very much worth a read if you haven’t checked it out already.

So there we are – my answers to the Quick Fire Fantasy Book Tag! And it really was a lot of fun. Do let me know if you do this one, or if you’ve done it in the past!
