Blogtober Day 29: Halloween Graphic Novels

I love graphic novels, and there are some great ones that fit in nicely around this time of year, as the nights get longer and colder, the wind picks up, and we enter that most spookiest time of the year. Here are my top three choices for graphic novels to read for Halloween.

Deadpool: Dracula’s Gauntlet

Review

Yes I will mention this book as much as possible. I just really loved it – it’s so enjoyable, and sweet, and funny. Truly Deadpool at his finest. And I have half a mind to grab my copy, take a trip to Wrexham, and shove it into Ryan Reynolds’ hands and ask when are we going to get this? (I’m kidding; it would definitely have to be an animated feature. Or even…a Marvel Special Presentation?)

iZombie, Vol. 1: Dead to the World

Review

Don’t go into this expecting the TV show. I love both, but it’s a shame we didn’t get an actual series of the actual comic book, as it’s pretty damn fun! In iZombie, rather than Liv and Ravi, we get Gwen, her ghost friend Eleanor, and a were-terrier. There’s also some vampires and a mummy and I kind of hold out hope to see this version on the screen one day.

Preludes & Nocturnes
The Sandman #1

Review

Ah, Sandman. If you’ve seen the Netflix series, you’ll already have an idea of how freaking good this series is. Believe the hype, folks. It’s a great balance between fantasy and horror, and the introductory graphic novel is so good. As soon as I started reading I knew I’d love this.

Three graphic novels to pick up this Halloween, and as always, if you have any graphic novel recommendations for me, let me know!
