As part of Blogtober, I’m reposting some of my Divination Hollow reviews from the last year. Usually, I review horror and similar genres over there, but October seems like a great time to highlight some of my favourites! You can read the original review here.

Blogtober: Day 1 / Day 2 / Day 3 / Day 4

Firstly, thank you to Archive of the Odd for sending me a copy of Revenge Arc. Views remain my own, as always.

This is one of those books where I can’t really go into too many details, as to do so risks spoilers. What I will say is Revenge Arc shows a talented writer you’ll want to keep an eye on, as she can only go up from here, and this book already sets the bar pretty high.

Through various mediums, including blog posts, Discord posts, Twitter, transcripts and more, Voleur explores issues surrounding the internet, parasocial relationships, and the issues facing female creators. Riley Langdon is a controversial name, thanks to her long-running webcomic series, but facing the possibility that her webcomic inspired horrific crimes, she retreats from the same platforms where she made her name, leaving a void for fans to speculate in.

Voleur crafts a tale that draws you in instantly, setting you off on a rollercoaster that has you wondering what, exactly, might happen next. At less than 200 pages, it’s a book you can easily devour and honestly, one of the few books I’ll likely pick up again for a reread. Like I said, I won’t go into much more detail, but this has the kind of ending that’ll leave you reeling and feeling a little haunted for a few days at least. Without a doubt this one is well worth picking up.
