#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook and you can learn more about it here. It occurs every Monday when we post about 5 books on our TBR.
It’s getting chilly. The leaves are turning. Halloween approaches…I know a lot of people don’t like this time of year, but I do! There’s so many fun things that happen around autumn. So, here’s 5 of my TBR books that make me think of autumn!
#5OnMyTBR September 23rd: Hello Autumn
Fear Ground by Jennifer Killick

Genre: Horror
Age: Middle Grade/Young Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: September 1st, 2022
Why I Want to Read: I think what season makes you think of ‘fair’ depends on where you grew up? Or at least where and when you visited fairs most often! Because of my time spent in Hull, and my experiences of the brilliant Hull Fair, they do just make me think of autumn. Something about the colour on this book and horror vibes to it feel autumnal, too. I want to read this because I loved Dread Wood, and I’m eager to carry on the series!
Of Myth and Memento Mori by Victoria Clapton

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: October 13th, 2023
Why I Want to Read: This is a recent addition to my TBR thanks to Stuff Your Kindle. It’s a paranormal romance, set around Halloween in Appalachia and deals with a nightmare from folklore. There’s a stranger in the woods, and a stranger in the woods is always dangerously enticing in these kind of books.
Casket Case by Lauren Evans

Genre: Contemporary Paranormal Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: September 10, 2024
Why I Want to Read: I feel like where we’ve had a trend of witches in small town, contemporary romances the last couple of years, we’re seeing a slight shift towards ghosts, death, etc? Which is…interesting! And anything of that kind of flavour feels perfect for autumn! I’ve really liked the witchy books and there’s still plenty I want to read, and I’m equally excited to check out the more death focused ones, which when phrased like that, sounds a bit odd!
Hex and the City by Kate Johnson

Genre: Contemporary Paranormal Romance
Age: Adult
Format: Paperback
Published: September 3rd, 2023
Why I Want to Read: Talking of witchy contemporary romances, and being a little hooked on them, I got this one via a blind date with a book, and was very excited when I saw the book! I’m really keen to dig into this. The cover is so cute and I think I’ll have a really fun time with this one.
The Modern Girl’s Guide to Magic by Linsey Hall

Genre: Contemporary Paranormal Romance
Age: Adult
Format: ebook
Published: May 31st, 2023
Why I Want to Read: Yes, another witchy book! This one sounds so fun and perfect for the season – it seems like the perfect book to curl up with under a blanket and with a cup of hot chocolate!
