It’s been quite a while since I did one of these, so thought it was maybe time to dive back in. At the moment, we’re on books I added to my Want to Read in December 2013. In some ways, this is helping me see where my tastes have changed. In others, it’s interesting to see which kind of books I still have an interest in.
For those interested in the numbers, this post will mean I’ve gone through 375 books. We’re starting today with the book currently at 166, which means I’ve removed 210 books. I’m really pleased with that, and glad to see I’m removing quite a few more books than I’m keeping on here!

I feel like I know exactly what past-me was thinking when she added this, and the fact is I have grown up so, so much since then. I’m no longer the young woman who goes all giddy over cute geeks, and the geek culture at the time of this book’s release was…getting better, but I feel like there might be one too many things in this book that were kind of not-quite-okay-but-tolerated back in 2013, that would just put me off now. Like George’s character in Grey’s Anatomy.

Similarly, I can see what pulled me towards this back in 2013, and I probably came across it from my recommendations, but now…I’m just not drawn to it anymore.

Well, we had a nice break from zombies there for a while, didn’t we? I’ve been so picky with the zombie books on my want to read – there’s just been so many of them, and a lot sound similar. Unless it’s sounds exceptionally special in some way, I just find I’m not really interested. And, unfortunately, this one doesn’t.

Again, I think this is one of those situations where I just don’t think I’d enjoy this as much now as I would have when I added it to the list.

I struggled to get through the blurb. I just don’t think this book is really for me – it doesn’t grab me. Something about it must have before, but this is another one off my want to read.

Five gone! On the one hand, it feels almost ruthless, but on the other, well, if it doesn’t interest me anymore, it’s just taking up space. As always, if you have read any of these and want to let me know what you thought, please do.
