There are currently way, way too many books on my Goodreads Want to Read shelf, and with very little hope of clearing this down by, you know, actually reading them, I’m going through and removing the ones I no longer want to read. We’re currently on – and have been for a while – the books I added in December 2013. So, let’s see how those tastes have changed.
RULES
Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
Order on ascending date added.
Take the first 5/10/however many books. If done again, start from where you left off.
Read the synopses of the books
Decide: should it stay or should it go?
166. The Wolf Gift
Anne Rice

Genre: Horror – Paranormal
Published: February 14th, 2012
I’m keeping this on the list because I would like to read more Anne Rice outside of The Vampire Chronicles (which I absolutely love), and I’m interested in her take on werewolves.
Status: Keep
167. Deadbeat: Makes You Stronger
Guy Adams

Genre: Horror – Humour
Published: October 1st, 2005
I’ve read some detective novels, and I find them to be really hit or miss. This one doesn’t particularly appeal to me anymore, and I just don’t think I’d really enjoy it.
Status: Gone
168. Asylum
Matt Drabble

Genre: Horror – Paranormal
Published: March 4th, 2013
Hmmm…whatever drew me to this initially is, I think, long gone. This sounds like it might be okay, but also 2013 was a hugely different time for many things, but especially regarding mental health and the way we talk about it. I just don’t think I’d get along with this one.
Status: Gone
169. Hot in December
Joe R. Lansdale

Genre: Horror
Published: December 3rd, 2013
For various, personal reasons, I won’t be reading any works from Lansdale.
Status: Gone
170. The House That Dripped Gore
Dan West

Genre: Horror
Published: June 22nd, 2013
A really quick scan over the reviews tells me I’m not really going to enjoy this one – the blurb itself doesn’t give me any faith, either, as it’s kind of messy!
Status: Gone
As always, if you’ve read any of these and agree or disagree with my choices, please do let me know! Seems I’m on a bit of a run of getting rid of books at the moment, and bit by bit the want to read is gradually coming down. Maybe one day it’ll actually be manageable!
