Blogtober Day 22: 100 New Horror Recommendations Part Five

Continuing with my ‘review’ of Goodreads’ 100 New Horror Recommendations for (Nearly) Every Kind of Reader, we’re now diving into haunted houses, which I am very excited about. I love haunted places, so let’s see which of these books I already want to read, haven’t heard of before, and, hopefully, read.

How to Sell a Haunted House
Grady Hendrix

Published: January 17th, 2023
Status: Want to Read

This is actually on my TBR – I really enjoyed The Final Girl Support Group, and as soon as I saw the title for this book I knew I’d need to read it. It sounds really intriguing.

The Reformatory
Tananarive Due

Published: October 31st, 2023
Status: Want to Read

This is another already on my TBR – historical horror can be really interesting, and I have no doubt Due’s novel is a strong one.

A House with Good Bones
T. Kingfisher

Published: March 28th, 2023
Status: Read

I loved this book, and I’m so glad to see it included on a list like this! It’s a really great modern Southern Gothic story, and Kingfisher is such a good writer!

Just Like Home
Sarah Gailey

Published: July 19th, 2022
Status: Not (Currently) Interested

This is one I might try to read in the future, but I do have the author’s The Echo Wife here to read, and I want to see how I get on with that before trying something else by Gailey.

What do you think? Have you read any of these, or are they on your TBR? If you’re a fan of haunted house novels, please feel free to throw your recommendations my way, too!
