That Dreaded TBR #4

Yep, it’s that time again. I’ve caught up on my reviews for the blog, so thought I’d do another of these. It seems to be going well, but a quick glance over the next five shows I might not be successful this time!

Part One / Part Two / Part Three

I originally saw this on Becky’s Book Blog

Rules

Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
Order on ascending date added.
Take the first 5/10/however many books. If done again, start from where you left off.
Read the synopses of the books
Decide: should it stay or should it go?

Cinder – Marissa Meyer

cinder

This has honestly been sitting on my Want to Read for so, so long. I still do want to check out this series – Fairy Tales meet Steampunk? Yes, please. And Cinder especially sounds really intriguing. I will eventually get around to reading this (I hope).

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz Age Stories – F. Scott Fitzgerald

the curious case

I’ve only read one F. Scott Fitzgerald story, and that’s The Great Gatsby. I like the style, and I’m definitely intrigued by this one, especially as I’d like to see the original Benjamin Button story. Fitzgerald isn’t an author we studied at school in the UK, and I wasn’t introduced to Gatsby until I was in university. I definitely want to check out these stories eventually.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane – Neil Gaiman

the ocean at the end of the lane

This is another easy one. I’ve never come across a Gaiman book I didn’t like, and by all accounts this one is supposed to be really, really good. This one will definitely stay on my list.

The First Days – Rhiannon Frater

Zombies! Two women pairing up and travelling through a zombie-the first daysinfested world! Okay, here’s the thing. I love zombies. I will devour (no pun intended) anything to do with zombies. The same with vampires. I am no where near fed up of any horror monster and I’ll happily keep consuming these books until the end of my days. Or the end of days when an actual zombie apocalypse happens, whichever comes first. So yes, I would very much like to read this one.

Kitty and the Midnight Hour – Carrie Vaughn

kitty and the midnight hour A while ago, I actually read a short story in this world – I can’t remember exactly where I read it, but I remember really loving it and then discovering the book was actually on my want to read list. I haven’t dipped my toe into urban fantasy & paranormal romance of this kind of a long, long time, but I’d like to return to these sort of books. Hopefully I can read this one soon.

Status: Keep

So nothing came off the list today, but I’ll keep trying. Very slowly, I am working my way through the way too long Goodreads Want to Read shelf, so eventually I think I’ll get there. And maybe before I do I’ll actually read some of these!

Have you read any of these books? Agree with my choices, or not? Let me know!

You can follow me on Twitter, and if you like what I do here and on Dead Head Reviews, please provide some kind words or alternatively, buy me a Ko-Fi!
