Blogmas Day 12: Top Ten Tuesday – Books on my Winter 23-24 To-Read List

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about the books on my Winter TBR, and I’m really looking forward to the books I have lined up for next few months.

It’s always fun when I’m going a new to-read TTT post to go back and check how many in my previous one I’ve actually managed to read. With the reading challenges I’ve really managed to do well at sticking to my to-read lists, and out of the ten books on my Autumn To-Read I read 5. 50% isn’t too bad! There were three Christmas books on there I haven’t got to (yet?), but that’s kind of because I got distracted by other Christmas books instead.

Winter TBR

Pirate’s Prize by Stephanie Flynn (Disney Reading Challenge) / Girl, Goddess, Queen by Bea Fitzgerald (2023 Tarot Reading Challenge)

I’m really hoping I get just a handful more books finished for these reading challenges by the end of this year, and these are the two ebooks I’ve got coming up next. Hopefully I can do it! I have signed up for the Disney Reading Challenge next year, but I think because the other challenges I’m taking on are going to be smaller or not year specific, there’s a chance I could actually finish it in 2024.

2023

Meet the Georgians by Robert Peal (Disney Reading Challenge) / She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan (2023 Tarot Reading Challenge)

I don’t think I’ll get to read both of these by the end of the year, but hopefully I can get at least one read. They’re both physical books, which I do read less of now, although I do have a trip coming up and sometimes I can end up reading quite a lot with the travel time, so we’ll see.

The Christmas Love Letters by Sue Moorcroft / Once Upon a Duke by Erica Ridley

Christmas books are the ones I’m least likely to actually plan for – it totally depends on what catches my eye. I don’t think I have time to get through two more, but it’s another case of we’ll see. I do want to try and read at least one of these though before Christmas day.


2024

The next four books are ones I’m going to start the New Year with – I haven’t planned out my books for my 2024 challenges yet, but I have picked the first ones for three challenges, and I’ll be picking my Netflix Challenge back up, too.

Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim (Disney Reading Challenge 2024) / Black Spartacus by Sudhir Hazareesingh (Musicals Reading Challenge 2024)

These are the only two year specific challenges I’m doing in 2024, and I’m looking forward to them. I was so pleased to see the Disney one come back, and the Musicals one, well, I created it, so I’m definitely excited to see how that goes! There’s 40 prompts for Disney and I did 24 for Musicals, so fingers crossed I might be able to complete both. These are two books that have sat on my TBR for a long time, too, so it’ll be good to kickstart the year by reading them.

So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo (Netflix Movies & TV Shows) / Blitz Spirit by Becky Brown (Avengers Challenge!)

I’m looking forward to getting back into the Netflix Challenge, and hopefully completing it. I have 12 out of 24 prompts done, so it shouldn’t be too hard to finish the rest. And those books are already all planned out. So You Want to Talk About Race is another one that’s been on my TBR for too long. The Avengers Challenge is a new one I’m starting in January, though there’s no set time for this. There’s 6 official prompts and a few bonus ones, and I have some idea of the books I might use for this, but I’m starting with Blitz Spirit for the Captain America prompt.


So there we have it – the next ten books I’m hoping to read! The chances of me reading all these before my next To-Read post are kind of slim, but I will do my best! Have you read any of these? How are your TBR piles looking for the next few months?
