Blogmas Day 22: The End of Year Book Tag

As we are almost at the end of the year, it seems like a good time to do this book tag! I originally saw this at Words Unlike Our Own. I thought I did this tag last year, but I actually completed it the year before in 2021. Will have to try and remember it for next year!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

At the moment, I’m reading four books – a book for research, A Childhood in a Welsh Mining Valley, a paperback, Meet the Georgians, an ebook, Flying Home for Christmas, and on Audible, Siege and Storm. I can’t see myself finishing A Childhood by the end of this year, but the other three, I’m definitely hoping I can finish them!

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Autumn usually sees me reading horror and darker fiction running up to Halloween, then switching over to Christmas books, so…not really?

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

It feels like there always is! Nothing in particular, but definitely a few titles I’m looking out for.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Except for the ones I’m currently reading, if I get the chance I’d really like to read A Hunger Like No Other, Gambling on the Duke’s Daughter, and maybe Pirate’s Prize. They’re all the next books on my reading challenge, so fingers crossed.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

If I do manage to get to it, possibly A Hunger Like No Other.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2024?

Yes! Largely because I’m carrying on doing reading challenges into 2024, so a small amount of my reading is currently planned out.
